It's been a while

A Britney opener seemed so right since this is a major comeback and I’ve been M.I.A for so long. Well I’m so sorry for the delay in blogging and lack of communication but when you live in London and have 3 months off University, things tend to get lost in translation a lot.

Now the question is what have I been up to? Well, work, work and more work along with focusing on my instagram page and exploring the fashion world a bit more than usual –meaning I actually left the four walls of my room to go to events and network with amazing people.  Which brings me to today’s post: Pure London

Pure London is an amazing event hosted for small businesses/boutique owners and buyers to showcase their products, network and gain more accessibility to a broader market. If you’re looking to branch out or attract new customers becoming a part of this event is a must, especially since there were so many international companies there. However you don’t only need to be a buyer or business owner to attend the event, if you’re a student or working within fashion you're welcome to attend so don’t cross it off your things to do.

Here is a run through of the seminar programme and talks given at the event:
-          Visual merchandising: Getting the basics in place and spotting the errors
The speaker was thorough and maintain a sense of warmth at the same time, she illustrated the importance of being aware of what makes a window attractive regardless of how simple the product within it may seem along with seasonal promotions being able to gain you customers or make you lose them.

-          Womenswear Catwalk

-          Building a community : Ways to engage with your customers

-          Pop-Up!! The new way to break into retailing

-          Don’t Guess. Know. How to use the wisdom of the crowd as your buying crystal ball

And those are just a few of what was being discussed and spoken about. Along with this the catwalk gave so much inspiration and ideas to us within the audience so here’s a look:

Here's also a look at pictures from there instagram account of the day's event:

As we are on the topic of small business and boutique here’s an preview of an up and coming boutique that caters to the modern independent women, giving her sultriness and pose along with comfort all in one. The Unique boutique London is owned by two independent women working to make a name for themselves with the business world of London so keep this company in mind and shop till you drop because the women with her own mind is a women that can take over this world.

Here’s a look of the summer collection they are currently stocking:

It's been far too long

Hey guys, I know it’s been a while since my first blog post which is all down to me and not prioritising but that’s going to change in due time. So technically, I did have my second post done half way through but according to my laptop no such file existed (breathes in and out slowly). Which now leaves me going back to the drawing board? This week’s post is the continuation of the day that started this wonderful journey off.

We did manage to leave Zara and hopped back and forth on a few trains playing ‘Can we get there on time’ I’m sure everyone has played this theoretical game. I must say this before I go on, DLR services on that day was amazing literally lifesaving and also gave us a few giggles too. Righite, so arriving at West india quay was a pleasant relief considering how many obstacles we had to go throw before we arrived but the scenery was a vision that made it all worth it in the end. Now we were on a mission to find a restaurant that was not full, that way our food would come out soon but not too empty which in other words meant it was a bad place to eat at. And thus we came across La Tasco, a lovely Spanish tapas restaurant with the most mouth-watering mini dishes that I thought gave TGI Fridays a run for their money (the burger of course).

The idea was to share a meal with your fellow guest so that everyone could try something the other that ordered, hence why the food is mini; it’s proportionate. To top it all of my meal only can to £11, can you believe that a riverside restaurant has such a reasonably priced menu!

My outfit for the day was for comfort but fashionable all at the same time, here’s a look at what I wore:

Unfortunately, the picture looks blurry when I enlarge so as a compromise I've recreated the actual outfit and others for comfortable evening cinema looks.

Stepping to my own beat in a new journey

Rightie my lovely’s, last night was in every senses of the word a scramble-Literally. The goal was to create a night filled with bonding over dinner and then relaxing to a "she dies but comes back and is running from all her lover’s" kind of film. Which I'm sure you may have come across on more than one occasion if you’re a film frantic like me. It started off with a shopping trip to Oxford circus with me and my girlfriends heading to Selfridge's for some 90s lipstick styles however this came to a abrupt halt when we saw Zara. Yes, the weakness of many ladies –ZARA!

It wasn't that they had good pieces no, no, no they have  rack on racks on racks (lool that song just came out) which made my life hell since all I wanted was a new lippy and instead spent hours surfing through hangers, trying on clothes and debating on whether it was good enough to purchase.

Rightie (yes it’s not a real word but it doesn't stop me from using it)

Here are some of what came out of our girls trip to Zara:

Long dress with back chain looks amazing as an evening wear or day

Lace embroidered bib front, sleeveless long round neck dress

Long striped dress with pockets is light, comfortable and great for day wear
